Kudzu

It's been several years now since I've even thought about weaving a basket. I'm considering taking a group to a kudzu patch and having a class. If I do, I'll post pictures.
Thanks!

I have just started making baskets from wild muscadine vine and am looking for somewhere to gather kudzu vine. I have gotte more informaiton from your page here than I have been able to find almost anywhere. Hope that you start making baskets again...

Thanks Stefanie!
I still haven't made it to the kudzu patch...it's just too hot, and I'm crushed for time!
Good luck to you. IF you can't find any kudzu, you may find honeysuckle, weeping willow, any kind of willow, wisteria...

You information on Kudzu was very helpful. I live in MS and as you can guess we have plenty. I am working on an outdoor installation with a woven element. The figures I am creating are going to be scultped out of clay from the waist up and a suspended basket from the waist down. I have been tring to fugure out the best vine to use. What will last the longest and allow more of an open weave/armature look. Do you have any suggestions. I am about to go outside to collect some willow and kudzu. I see other vine but as far have not been able to figure out the species. I would very much like to use a round vine. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
